Friday 28th - Sunday 30th November 2008

A Festival of Traditional Scottish Music celebrating St. Andrew's Day
A weekend of the best in Scottish Music

Brought to you by the Macdonald Aviemore Highland Resort in conjunction with MuseNexus - The Musicians Network, this new and exciting festival offers a feast of music for everyone.

It's not often there's the chance to announce a brand-new traditional music festival, especially in the Highlands. This is a true grass roots collaboration between the Highlands' largest and friendliest resort and the musicians themselves and guarantees to be much more entertaining and full of life than some other events.

The Aviemore Saltire Festival - a weekend of the best in Scottish music - it does just what it says on the tin!

There's not only the 'Festival Concert' on Saturday night with a wide variety of acts from solo clarsach (Celtic harp), through original songs and gypsy jazz, to two phenomenal bands giving new meaning to 'Celtic Ramee'. You'll also find activities, concerts and ceilidhs to keep you busy and dizzy from Friday 5pm almost non-stop through to Sunday afternoon.

Along the way you'll have a chance to take in:

Friday evening's 'Kick-Off Ceilidh' and Saturday afternoon 'Family Ceilidh' designed to be child friendly, both in the Four Seasons.

Lunch time sing-along concerts in the Food Hall with a St Andrew's Day special on Sunday.

Friday and Saturday evening 'Rosewood & Steel' informal concerts in the sophisticated atmosphere of The Laggans Bar featuring five of the best acoustic guitarists in Scotland today.

Workshops and hands-on musical activities with Feis Strathspey in The Inn Lounge.

And for you night Owls and party animals there are late night sessions in the Four Seasons Festival Club on both Friday and Saturday with a survivor's session not-too-early on Sunday.

There are events for the family, for the musical sophisticate, the Festival Concert, for ceilidh dancers and the Four Seasons Festival Club sessions are open to players and listeners alike, especially if you like to stay with the party atmosphere into the wee small hours.

We have the music, do you have the stamina?
