Adrian Eaton
Classical Guitarist
Adrian originally from Motherwell, now lives in one of the most beautiful part of the Highlands overlooking the Beauly Firth. He's a self-taught classical guitarist and has been playing and teaching the guitar for 30 years. Adrian fell in love with instrument at a very early age. Even before he could say what a guitar was he was instinctively drawn to it and remembers pointing at one in a shop window and asking what it was. Much later, around his 13th birthday, Adrian got a cassette of Julian Bream; and that was it. The cassette still inspires him today.
In recent times, Adrian has won the Open Category of the Inverness Music Festival for the last four years. He has been runner up four times at the same festival's Curtis Craig Competition and feels honoured to have shared the stage with the best instrumentalists from all over the country.
Performances have included a duo with opera singer Tony Henry, taken part in Summer Concert programmes around the Inverness-shire area and is regularly asked to perform at weddings. Adrian plays in a variety of styles from transcription of dignified renaissance and baroque lute music to upbeat arrangements of popular music. His favourite performance pieces are from the classical and romantic periods.
